Wild & FErmented Foods

(and also caliFornia Foods I guess)

While working on my undergraduate and masters degrees, I taught two 1-unit courses. I taught California Foods for two semesters and taught Wild & Fermented Foods for five semesters. In that time, I made a lot of imagery to support the course. Here are some advertisement images, title cards for my slidedecks, and a recipe poster.

COURSE ADVERTISEMENTS

My co-teachers and I had to advertise the course ourselves to recruit students. We would post these on social media pages, along with some copy text, to great success— one semester we had 160+ applicants for just 50 student slots.

At some point I got the idea to start every class presentation I made with a Wes Anderson-inspired title card. I didn't do this for guest lecturers or for lectures prepped by my co-facilitators (hence the gaps in numbering), but I did make variants of each one in case we rearranged the course semester-to-semester. Photos are by me (Shane Pauker) unless otherwise noted.

PICKLE RECIPE

This poster killed two birds with one stone: I completed an assignment for the graphic design class I was taking at the time and I made a concise recipe poster for my students. It's nice to have.
